Australia Day is more than just a public holiday; it’s also the perfect day to get together with others in the community and celebrate everything that makes Australia one of the best places to live.

I think sometimes we take for granted the lifestyle that Australia offers us. For example here in Casula we have plenty of opportunities and freedoms and are fortunate enough to be surrounded by some beautiful places. We also have a diverse mix of talented, respectful and friendly people who all help to make Casula the great place that it is and all of this should of course be celebrated.

I know that many people will be getting together for Australia Day either for a drink with their mates or maybe even to play some good old fashioned backyard cricket. Liverpool City also has a whole heap of festivities planned and this year’s events will be extra special because as I mentioned a couple of weeks back, this year marks the Bicentennial of Liverpool. So there will be lots of big fireworks and activities happening at Woodward Park, so it is definitely worth getting along to the celebrations this year. For more information check out the Liverpool City Council website.

Whichever way you choose to celebrate Australia Day, I hope that you have an absolute blast and if you have any stories to share of how you will be celebrating Australia Day this year I would love to hear them!
