Should You Fix Your Home Before You Sell?

A common question I get asked when selling homes is “should I invest money now to improve my property, or just sell as is?”

This is a difficult question and can depend on a number of variables such as the type of home, the street you live on and of course the extent of work that you would like done. Of course whether or not you have the money to spend is a very important factor to consider as well.

The quick answer though, is that the better you present your home, the easier it will be to sell (and for the price that you want!).

If you are considering something like re-laying carpet or repainting in most cases I would say that you should, because these minor changes are only a small investment and you will most likely get more than your money back for them!

When it comes to selling your home presentations is everything so do whatever you can to improve it!

But at the end of the day what you should do to your home before you sell will depend completely on your personal situation. So if you are facing the age old question, “Should I fix before I sell?” then get in touch with me or one of the team at the Casula Real Estate office and we’ll give you some personal advice.
