It’s almost Census time again and the Liverpool City Council is encouraging local residents to register their interest in helping to make the Census possible.

The Census will be taking place this year on Tuesday August 9, and households will be asked questions about the dwelling in which they live and the people living inside it.

Not everyone likes to contribute their personal details to the Census (though it is all anonymous) but by giving accurate information we are helping to define our community so that we can make plans to improve it for the future.

Even local business owners, or buyers and sellers in the area, can find lots of invaluable statistics about the local area, thanks to Census.

To help make Census successful, the Australian Bureau of Statistics looks for field staff, who can help encourage people to take part in the Census.

About 43,000 people are employed every year and about 10,000 of these are from NSW and the ACT.

So if you’re interested in helping make Census possible then you can find details at. www.abs.gov.au/census.
