Royal Tribute in Western Sydney

First it was Michael Jackson, and then it was Barack Obama and Oprah Winfrey, and surely enough now Will and Kate have two brick murals of their own in western Sydney.

The two 100sqm bricks murals by Austral Bricks were unveiled last week, to celebrate the royal wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton (which I’m sure everybody has heard about).

The temporary tribute to the couple, to remain on display in Horsley Park for 3 weeks, is part of a now famous series of wall murals that Austral Bricks has displayed at their Horsley Park site.

Apparently it took 10 days to complete both of the brick walls, and almost 16,000 bricks were used in different shades and laid in a traditional bricklaying style.   They’ve certainly done an excellent job and it’s great to see as you drive by.

Have you seen the royal murals at Horsley Park? Who do you think will be the next person to have a brick mural made in their honour?
