Should the Casula Graffiti Tanks Stay or Go?

There are a lot of different views about graffiti in the Casula community. Some people appreciate the artistic expression behind a graffiti mural while others simply find them unsightly.

The varying views regarding graffiti are making it difficult for the Liverpool Council to decide whether or not to demolish the graffiti painted walls on the disused water tanks at the Casula Powerhouse.

Those who believe the tanks should stay believe that the walls are a great outlet for young people in the area, and it is better for them to be putting their graffiti on the water tanks than on other walls in the community. On the other hand though, some believe that the graffiti walls are in fact legitimising graffiti in the neighbourhood and making it more of a problem then it should be.

The fate of the water tanks will be decided at a council meeting being held next Monday, and it is likely that there will be a number of people from the community in attendance so that they can express their opinions on the matter.

What do you think about the water tanks at the Casula Powerhouse – should they stay or should they go?
