In Casula’s neighbouring suburb of Moorebank, there are big plans for the popular New Brighton Golf Club.

The golf club has recently joined forces with Mirvac Homes, who will help transform the golfing site into a new real estate and golf development.

The development will include building a new clubhouse, entertainment and function rooms, health and fitness facilities and a restaurant, and up to 16 hectares of the golf course is going to be redeveloped into a new residential estate for Moorebank.

According to the New Brighton Golf Club manager, Andrew Terry, the new development will see 310 new houses built next to the new Georges Fair Estate development,

Together, the new housing developments will help provide about 1200 new homes for Liverpool and it is predicted that they will be able to accommodate up to 3000 new residents within the next 5 to 8 years.

The development is still subject to planning approvals but if it does go ahead then it will be one of Sydney’s biggest golf course developments.

The new development is very exciting news for the local area, as it means we will have new housing available as well as a new world class golfing facility on our doorstep.

If the new development is approved then works are expected to commence in the second half of this year, after which it will take up to six years to complete.

I would love to hear what the local community thinks about the new development – so feel free to share your thoughts by leaving a comment.
