Is It Possible To Renovate at the Speed of ‘The Block’?

Each year that The Block airs on TV it always provides plenty of inspiration for people in the Liverpool region who are doing renovations of their own – but is it really realistic to expect that we can turn an old and tired home into a dream home in just a couple of months as they do on the show?

Most builders and renovators out there will tell you that a typical home makeover takes a lot longer than this, especially if you need to redo each and every room of your house.

Renovating takes a lot of planning, budgeting and careful consideration and you should take the time to get quotes, find the right builders, negotiate and then make sure that the building work is carried out to your satisfaction.

While it could be possible to renovate an entire home in 8 weeks, it would be a very stressful ordeal and you would need to dedicate a lot of time and you would need a lot of professional help too (which means it will be expensive).

For the best renovating results it is best to take your time and make sure that each and every job is carefully thought out and done properly. You don’t want to rush through projects only to find that you will need to fix them in a couple of month’s time.

But while most of us won’t be able to work the same renovation wonders as they do on The Block, it is still a great show to watch for renovators and non-renovators for some great ideas and even better entertainment.
