One of the best things about living in the Liverpool region is the variety of delicious cuisines that are available on our doorstep, and soon we will be celebrating some of our diverse local flavours as part of the Crave Sydney International Food Festival.

Throughout October there will be loads of food related events happening all throughout Sydney, and a couple will be taking place at the Casula Powerhouse – there will be the Sweet As Festival and Barbecue Pacifica.

The Sweet As Festival will be taking place on October 21 and it will be a celebration of sweet treats from a variety of cultures. There will be ais kacang, lokum, benne cake, gulab jamun and nian gao, as well as a range of locally produced teas, coffees and sweets. The day will also feature hands-on workshops and to find out more, click here.

The Casula Powerhouse will also host Barbecue Pacifica on October 14. This event will be held in conjunction with the Pacifica Power exhibition and it will feature a traditional ground oven feast across three cultures. There will be the hangi (Maori), umu (Samoa), and Tongan pork spit-roast. For further information about this event, click here.

The local Crave events will provide locals with a fun way to help discover the delicious food available in our local area, and hopefully it will also help inspire a few people to start testing out their cooking skills at home.

The Casula Powerhouse’s Crave events are sure to be popular – so if you want to find out more about them and the other events taking place around Sydney then head to the Crave Sydney International Food Festival website at www.cravesydney.com.
