However you plan to spend this evening, whether it be dancing up a storm, enjoying a small gathering with close friends, or snuggling up on the couch and watching the fireworks on TV, our team at Professionals Paradise Realty Casula Real Estate hope you have a fun night, stay safe, and do your best to avoid waking up with a sore head tomorrow.

With every New Year’s Eve comes the tradition of making New Year’s Resolutions.  Over the years we’ve all heard (or made) the resolutions of wanting to lose x number of kilograms, quit smoking, quit alcohol, quit chocolate, or join the gym.  When deciding on your resolution for 2013, it’s always a good idea to pick a broad goal that can be achieved by following several paths.  For example, rather than restricting yourself to joining the gym, why not make your aim to fit more exercise in to your week?  That way, if you’re not much of a gym go-er you can still achieve your goal by walking, jogging, swimming, riding your bike, kicking the footy or having a hit of tennis.  It’s also wise to choose a resolution that adds something to your life, rather than one that takes something away.  For example, resolving to eat more fruit each day is going to be easier than depriving your sweet-tooth of all things chocolate.  By setting yourself up for success rather than failure you’ll be far less likely to give up by February.

Some celebrities have taken to twitter and red carpet interviews to share their slightly wackier resolutions:

  • Adam Levine (‘Maroon 5’ singer): “Potential New Year’s resolutions: take more hikes…. Communicate. Enjoy. Share. Kill my own food. Make friends with a Lion.”
  • Jason Segel ( How I Met Your Mother): “I’d like to get Ryan Reynolds’ body.  I’m close — I mean, I’m like a week away!”
  • Ricky Gervais (The Office, Extras, The Ricky Gervais Show): “My new year’s resolution was to be even more brilliant but it’s proving impossible.”

If you’re having trouble coming up with a New Year’s Resolution of your own, you can use the free resolution generator at http://moninavelarde.com/newyears/ to find a goal that resonates with you.  There are some great ones here, from “This year I will perform random acts of kindness”, to “This year I will take more photos”.

Please share your New Year’s Resolutions with us here.

While you’re busily creating resolution lists, I would like to thank all of my clients, customers, blog readers, and facebook ‘likers’ for your support and friendship throughout the year, and take this opportunity to wish everybody living in and around Liverpool a wonderful night and fantastic, healthy and happy 2013!
