We’re sure all NSW home owners are aware by now that all NSW swimming pools must be registered. Previously, home owners were told to have their pool’s compliance with the Swimming Pools Act confirmed for free on the NSW Government website (http://www.swimmingpoolregister.nsw.gov.au/), or for a fee with their local council, by 29 October 2013. However, due to high demand, not all owners were able to meet the October 29 deadline.
If you were unable to get through in time to meet the first deadline, we have some great news for you. The deadline has now been extended to November 19, 2013. As long as you complete your swimming pool registration by November 19, you will not be fined for missing the October deadline. Don’t forget, aside from escaping a fine, registering your pool will make sure there are no hold-ups when it comes to selling your Liverpool home. All purchasers will be requesting the registration paperwork, and not having the required registration date and confirmation of compliance may just lose a very profitable sale.
We’re sure some Liverpool home owners will need to log on over the next week or so to register their pool on the NSW Government website. Our team at Professionals Paradise Realty urge you to tick this one off your ‘to do’ list sooner rather than later, as we’re expecting their website to be very busy again as the new deadline draws closer.
Whether you’ve already registered your NSW swimming pool, or will be logging in to do so prior to November 19, NSW pool owners have a responsibility to make sure their pools are safe. As we enjoy the gorgeous weather we’re having as summer approaches, don’t let yourself or your family down. Keep your pool safe at all times.
