Red Shield Doorknock AppealThe Salvation Army is holding its annual Red Shield Doorknock Appeal again this year and it’s calling the Liverpool community to volunteer and get involved.

The Red Shield Doorknock Appeal is the Salvation Army’s biggest national fundraising drive, and this year it is hoped that it can help raise $10 million nationally, which will go towards assisting disadvantaged Australians, including people who are hungry, homeless, abandoned or abused.

To reach its goal, the Salvation Army needs people in communities like Liverpool to head outside and to raise as much money as they can.

If you are interested in volunteering, you only need to spare a few hours this weekend. Groups of volunteers will be asked to head out together to doorknock, look after collection buckets in busy spots and drive collecting groups to their locations.

The Salvation Army also needs people to help organise their appeal centres, so there are plenty of different ways to get involved.

Remember the more people that get involved, the more money that can be raised!

For those in Liverpool who are interested in getting involved in this year’s Red Shield Doorknock Appeal, you can find further details at salvos.org.au.
