liverpool community recycling centreRecycling trouble waste products is now a lot easier for Liverpool residents thanks to the opening of a new recycling centre in the area.

The new centre, which opened last week, will make it easier to dispose of problem waste items such as paints, oils and batteries.

Liverpool already has a strong reputation for being good recyclers, so the new centre will help further our recycling efforts and divert waste away from landfill.

The new facility has been made possible thanks to a $250,000 grant from the Environment Protection Authority and it comes after hard work by the council, the NSW Government and the local community.

So next time you want to get rid of waste that can’t be disposed of in your general household waste bin, find out if it can be recycled at the Liverpool Community Recycling Centre.

The following items will be accepted at the centre:

  • Paint (oil and water based)
  • Gas bottles and fire extinguishers
  • Fluoro globes and tubes
  • Computers and televisions
  • Household and car batteries
  • Polystyrene
  • Motor and other oils
  • Smoke detectors
  • Mobile phones
  • Cardboard

The centre is located at Liverpool Council’s Rose Street Operations Depot is open 8am-3pm from Monday to Saturday.
