Jeans for Genes DayLiverpool residents might notice a lot of denim around town this Friday, as people pull out their jeans to help raise much-needed funds for research into birth defects and diseases such as cancer, epilepsy and a range of genetic disorders.

That’s right, Jeans for Genes Day is back again and that means that workplaces, schools and community groups are being encouraged to forgo their regular attire and don their favourite denim to help scientists at the Children’s Medical Research Institute discover treatments and cures that will allow every child the opportunity to live a long and healthy life.

Every dollar raised can help scientists test the blood of one patient for aggressive forms of cancer, and $1000 can help scientists make a new discovery that could lead to a future treatment for cancer, epilepsy or other neurological disorders.

The Jeans for Genes Day cause is helping bring treatments and cures closer to reality for children all around the world, and Liverpool residents can help get behind the cause by firstly wearing a pair of jeans to help raise awareness, and secondly by donating to the cause.

If you want to donate to Jeans for Genes Day or find out more about it then head to www.jeansforgenes.org.au.
