For those who live in Casula…. get ready, because it looks like we’ll be having lots of fun events this year to help celebrate the 2010 Bicentenary of the City of Liverpool. Events for the Liverpool Bicentenary started on the 7th November 2009 however there will be events happening around the community all this year up until the 7th November 2010.
One of the major contributions to the festivities will be the Casula Powerhouse Arts Centre whom have received a government grant this year of $150,000 which will be used for exhibitions during the bicentennial as well as public programs, education and creative development projects.
So there should be heaps of exciting and fun events in Casula this year. I know that on January the 26th we will be having The Bicentennial Australia Day at Woodward Park which is expected to have a fantastic fireworks display and other attractions as well.
It looks like 2010 is shaping up to be another great year in Casula and I am looking forward to some great events. If you wanted to check out some of the events happening during the Liverpool Bicentenary then head along to the Liverpool City Council website for a list of events.
