Just down the road from Casula are the quiet rural areas of Austral and Leppington, which may soon be seeing a lot of new development.
So far the plans for Austral and Leppington include the construction of new housing and major commercial hubs that will help to form a southwest growth centre that is expected to attract a population the size of Canberra!
Austral will undergo a massive growth and if all goes to plan there will be 8000 new dwellings and a mixed-use town centre with employment areas and five neighbourhood centres, while Leppington will become a major commercial hub with new shops and entertainment venues as well as a rail link and more new dwellings there as well.
Zoning and planning still needs to be organized before any construction will actually begin in the areas but to find more information check out the Liverpool City Council website or read an article about the planned developments here.
