Right now, everyone in Casula wants to do what they can, to help out those who have been affected by the recent floods that have taken place all around the country.

People are donating their money and their time and offering support to friends and loved ones affected. A local lady from Wattle Grove is even undertaking a marathon to help raise money for the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal in Queensland.

Kirsty Page will walk 100km in 10 days in the hopes that people will sponsor her and help her raise much needed funds for Queensland.

As Ms Page said in the Liverpool Leader, “I aim to make $1000 – if 1000 people can sponsor me 10c per kilometre I’ll make that goal. Even if that only helps out one family, it’s worth it.”

It’s great to see locals trying to help out our neighbours! To donate to Ms Page’s cause, go to www.mycause.com.au and search for 100km in 10 days.

Casula residents can also help contribute to the Queensland flood appeal by donating directly to the Premier’s Disaster Relief Appeal.
