Liverpool’s local community organisations are being invited to apply for a share in $300,000 worth of funding as part of the 2011 Community Building Partnership Program.
The funding is part of a $35 million initiative by the State Government, which is offering $300,000 to each electoral district in NSW.
The goal of the program is to help support the diverse needs of local communities and to help move essential projects and local infrastructure forward.
Groups applying to be a part of the program need to be able to demonstrate how their project can “benefit their local community through the building or improvement of facilities to deliver positive social, recreational or environmental outcomes”.
The Liverpool community has benefited from some great projects as part of the initiative in the past, such as the redevelopment of the Liverpool Women's Health Centre, the People's Shed at Miller and more.
The 2011 Community Building Program is open for application until Monday, October 31. Submitted projects need to be able to commence by mid-2012 and be completed by the end of June 2013.
The Premier will announce the successful projects in March next year.
If you think your project deserves to be a part of the program you can submit it at www.communitybuildingpartnership.nsw.gov.au.
