When most people think of Christmas they probably think of a traditional Christmas tree, Santa Claus and gift-giving, and while this is a popular way to celebrate Christmas, the truth is that this time of year is celebrated in many different ways all around the world.
Even within our own community, being that it is made up of many different cultural influences, it’s a fair assumption that every household celebrates Christmas in its own unique way.
It’s interesting to learn about the different cultural traditions and beliefs that surround the festive holiday though and currently at the Liverpool City Library; local residents have the chance to learn a bit more about the various Christmas traditions that take place around the globe.
The library will be featuring a special photographic exhibition called “Christmas Around The World” featuring yuletide traditions from all kinds of backgrounds.
The exhibition is completely free, and it will provide a great way to learn more about the colour, customs and festive rituals that Christmas brings around the world.
The Christmas Around The World Exhibition will be on at the Liverpool City Library (located at 170 George Street, Liverpool) until January 2012.
