We’ve certainly been seeing some ridiculously wet weather in NSW over the last few weeks (apparently Sydney has experienced its heaviest rain in 5 years!), and it’s been taking its toll on homes, businesses, and livelihoods, both locally and across the state.
Liverpool has experienced some minor flooding in the area due to the heavy rain and residents are reminded that safety is a number one priority during times like these.
While the waters have gone down now, locals are reminded to be extremely careful when driving on the roads and watch out for fallen trees or other hazards, as there have been many reported around the area.
A major thank you needs to go to the Liverpool SES volunteers who have been working tirelessly to help rescue those caught in flood waters and also helping with the clean up efforts.
Let’s hope that the rainy weather eases up now, but local residents should still continue to monitor weather warnings and keep up to date with road closures. You can find current information about the flooding of Georges River at www.ses.nsw.gov.au/news/2012/MinorFloodWarning-GeorgesRiver.
