The Liverpool local government elections are being held on Saturday, September 8 this year, and while this is still a few months away, we thought we’d remind Liverpool residents about the importance of making sure that their enrolment details are up-to-date.
Liverpool voters have until Monday, July 30, to make sure that their enrolment details are current with the NSW Electoral Commission.
It’s important to remember that voting is a legal requirement for all Australian citizens aged over 18 years and while some people may not like to vote, it is an important opportunity for everyone in our community to be able to help shape our local governments and therefore what happens in our electorates.
If you have just turned 18 years old, or you’ve just moved, you need to enrol or update your details with the NSW Electoral Commission to ensure your vote counts.
We would like to encourage Liverpool residents to check that their electoral registration details are up-to-date before the July 30 deadline.
If you would like to find out more information about this year’s local government elections, you can visit the Liverpool City Council website or the NSW Electoral Commission website.
