Confused about the 2012 Budget announcement for changes to the First Home Owner’s and New Home Owner’s Grant Scheme? Here’s a summary of the facts:
– From 1 July 2012: All Non first home buyers will receive a grant of $5,000 to purchase a newly built home up to $650,000.
– From 1 Oct 2012: First home buyers of newly built properties up to $650,000, will now receive a grant of $15,000 plus exemptions on Stamp Duty.
– From 1 Oct 2012: The current first home buyer grant of $7,000 currently available to all first home purchases will be abolished.
