Those interested in nominating themselves as a candidate in this year’s local government elections may first want to explore Liverpool on the ground by taking an organised bus tour of the city.

The bus tour is being organised by Liverpool resident Ian Bailey, who wants to give Liverpool Council candidates the opportunity to witness the practical matters of the city by visiting places such as the Moorebank intermodal terminal construction site, Casula Powerhouse, Nace Engineering, Malak Fahd Islamic School, the potholes in West Hoxton, Bedwell Park, Chipping Norton Lake and Coopers Paddock.

The idea behind the tour is that it will show potential candidates the issues that local residents face and the issues that they will hopefully be able to fix.

The bus tour will be taking place from 8.30am this Saturday, starting at Clinches Pond on Swain Street in Moorebank and candidates interested in attending should contact Ian Bailey on 9821 4284 or email ibails@bigpond.net.au.

Those interested in nominating themselves for the upcoming council election can do so from this Monday and up until noon on Wednesday, August 8.
