Jeans for Genes Day is coming up on Friday August 3 and Liverpool residents are being encouraged to head out on this day, wearing their favourite pair of jeans.
Workplaces, school and community groups can get involved with the event by foregoing their attire in favour of their favourite pair of jeans. Those who are really committed to the cause may even choose to wear a head-to-toe denim outfit for the day.
Jeans for Genes Day raises funds for the work carried out by scientists at the Children’s Medical Research Institute. One dollar can help scientists test the blood of one patient for aggressive forms of cancer, or $1000 could help the scientists make a new discovery that could lead to a future treatment for cancer, epilepsy or other neurological disorders.
The Jeans for Genes Day cause is helping to bring treatments and cures closer for the benefit of children around the world, and Liverpool residents can help get behind the cause by first wearing a pair of jeans to help raise awareness, and second by helping to donate.
If you want to donate for the Jeans for Genes Day cause or find out more about it then head to www.jeansforgenes.org.au.
