You may remember a blog we wrote a little while ago that talking about the possibility of bringing supermarket giant Costco to Casula. Well while the development hasn’t been given the official go-ahead yet, Liverpool residents currently have the opportunity to have their say on whether or not they want a Costco to be built at the Crossroads Homemaker Centre.
Costco’s development application (DA) will be on public exhibition until August 30, and it includes plans to build a wholesale and retail warehouse as well as a tyre shop and petrol station.
As mentioned in our last blog, Costco is a massive American member-only wholesale chain that sells bulk goods such as food, electronics, appliances, clothing and more. Membership to the store is expected to cost about $60 a year.
A lot of people in the local area are very excited about the possibility of Costco coming to Casula as it’s expected to help create hundreds of jobs and inject millions of dollars into the local economy.
You can view Costco’s DA at the Liverpool City Council website.

This vast investment is good for Liverpool economy. Besides, many jobs would be created for the local. And, this would bring us more shopping options for family and more variety of merchandise to choose. Moreover, I certainly hope that Crossroad would one day become a shopping hub with Mega mall etc.

I couldn’t agree more, competition is great for us, the consumer.
Cheers.

We need Costco in casula to create more jobs, inject life to retail in the area, and provide competition to big supermarkets.
