The Liverpool City Council has recently made some changes to the parking situation in Liverpool that will hopefully make parking easier for everyone.

One of these changes will include providing an additional 130 free, all-day parking spaces at Collimore Park.

Another change includes changing the time of parking meters, which will now operate from 9am (instead of 8am) on weekdays and Saturdays.

Liverpool’s blood donors will also be happy to hear that there will be eight free parking permits provided to the Australian Red Cross on Macquarie Street. The parking permits will be set aside for donors and hopefully it will help encourage more people to drop into the centre to donate blood.

Further parking amendments include reducing the charge of parking meters at the Bathurst Street car park from $2 to $1.50 an hour and changes to the prices at the Northumberland Street car park.

Paid parking has been introduced in Liverpool to help deal with our growing population, and there is likely to be further changes down the track to parking and transport arrangements, as the city’s needs change.
