It’s that time of the year again when all magazines, newspapers, blogs and morning shows compile their ‘best and worst of’ lists. We’ve now heard the top box office movie of 2012 was Avengers, the best TV show in 2012 was Homeland, and the best sporting TV moment in 2012 has been voted as the Olympic Games Opening Ceremony.
As Christmas fast approaches us, all these ‘best of’ lists got our Professionals Paradise Casula Real Estate team wondering… what’s the best ever Christmas movie?
Some typically popular ones are:
- National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation
- A Christmas Carol
- Arthur Christmas
- Christmas With The Kranks
- Home Alone
- The Little Drummer Boy
- The Polar Express
- Ernest Saves Christmas
- White Christmas (a.k.a. Holiday Inn)
- Scrooged
- Elf
- The Santa Claus
- Muppets Christmas Carol
- Love Actually
- Miracle On 34th Street
- The Grinch
Having looked through the many and varied Christmas movies on the list, our Casula Professionals Real Estate team has struggled to find a unanimous favourite.
When surveyed, these were the responses we got from our team:
- Sharon “National Lampoons followed by the little drummer boy”
- Elizza “I like Elf & The Santa Clause”
- Sheena “Definitely the Griswolds – National Lampoon”
- James “Mine is “Miracle On 34th Street” starring John Payne and there is another one which is good at Christmas called “It’s a wonderful life” with James Stewart. Both are in black and white and great “feel good” films. Then there is “Holiday Inn” with Bing Crosby and Danny Kaye, this is the film where Bing first sang “I’m dreaming of a white Christmas”. The film was also released under the title of “White Christmas” but it is better known as Holiday Inn. Can’t beat the oldies”
- Stuart “My favourite is probably National Lampoons”
- Jan “The Santa Clause”
- Joe “National Lampoons”
National Lampoons Christmas Vacation appears to be a winner here, but clearly there are a few others in the mix.
With so many wonderful Christmas flicks to watch, we’re sure all Liverpool families will love finding their own favourites. Please share your family’s favourite Christmas movie with us here; let us know which film gets your vote.
