Every year Lifeline celebrates Stress Down Day, a day of fun and fundraising in our Liverpool community. This year ‘Stress Down Day’ will be held this Friday, the 26th of July. With 1,250 calls from Australians in need of help coming through to Lifeline each year, there is a clear need to raise as much awareness and financial support as possible.
According to the Lifeline website, stress is the body’s way of dealing with pressure. It is a human reaction to life’s demands. When we experience a high level of pressure due to situations occurring around us (life, work or social), it can trigger an increase in energy and alertness. In many cases this is a healthy human reaction as it helps us to cope and get through the event or situation in the best possible way. However, too much stress can affect our health, so it needs to be managed appropriately.
How can you get involved in Lifeline’s ‘Stress Down Day’?
We’d love to see Liverpool businesses as well as individuals organising their own ‘Stress Down Day’ celebrations and fundraisers throughout Liverpool. You have from now until Friday to think about how you’d like to raise money for Lifeline while reducing your own stress levels. It’s a good idea to have some fun with the day. Past ‘Stress Down Days’ have been celebrated with stress-free morning teas, wearing slippers of pyjamas to work, office cricket games, movie nights, cocktail parties or disco nights.
Our Professionals Paradise Realty team would love the whole Liverpool community to get behind ‘Stress Down Day’ by involving as many people as you can in having fun, stressing less, and raising money and awareness in support of Lifeline.
