The Liverpool City Council is encouraging the local community to get fit and active by taking part in their new Surf Life Active program.
The program offers free physical activity sessions in the park, which are held at midday and aimed at office workers or anyone else looking to get fit in Liverpool.
It is hoped that through the program, local residents will join in and become fitter and healthier, as well as enjoying other benefits such as an increase in confidence and social inclusion.
There are two types of classes to choose from – Cross Fit or Yoga. Cross Fit is held on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and Yoga is held on Tuesdays and Thursdays. All classes are held from 12.30pm to 1.15pm at the park on the corner of Elizabeth and Bigge streets.
If you have time in your lunch hour, then there is no harm in going along to a class and potentially starting a new healthy habit.
Class bookings are essential, as places are limited. To book and for all further information visit www.liverpool.nsw.gov.au/whats-on/surflifeactive.
