With daylight saving ending in less than a week, we thought we would use this time to remind everyone in Liverpool about the importance of changing their clocks and their smoke alarm batteries at this time.
Over the last few years Fire and Rescue NSW have been encouraging local households to change their smoke alarm batteries at the same time as they change their clocks, in order to make it a regular habit.
Smoke alarm batteries need to be replaced about once a year. Smoke alarms should be installed in bedrooms and hallways and they should be checked regularly to make sure they are in working order.
Smoke alarms help save people’s lives so it’s extremely important that we all having working smoke alarms in our homes.
Daylight saving will be ending on Sunday 6 April in NSW at 3am, when we should all be turning our clocks back one hour.
We thought we would also use this time to remind people that daylight saving can often cause confusion the on the day it changes, so keep this in mind if you are arranging any meet-ups or home inspections in Liverpool this Sunday. It’s often best to give people a friendly reminder so that they meet you at the right time.
Have you ever missed an appointment because you forgot to change your clock after daylight saving?
