Liverpool ParksThis week is Hello Parks Week, a week to celebrate our local natural areas and give thanks to those who help preserve them.

The Liverpool region is blessed with plenty of beautiful parks that help provide the community with places to relax, exercise and meet up with friends. While we are lucky to have these beautiful parks to visit in our neighbourhood though, the reason that a lot of our parks are such great places to hang out is because of the hard work of local volunteers.

Volunteers in the Liverpool community help to plant trees, remove weeds, clean up and preserve the natural environment of native plants and animals.

Anybody in the community is welcome to join in on helping to sustain Liverpool’s natural areas and become a volunteer too.

To get involved, everyone is encouraged to join in on days such as Clean Up Australia Day or National Tree Day, or if you are really committed you can join a local environment group.

You can find more details about how to get involved with sustaining our local parks at www.liverpool.nsw.gov.au/whats-on/get-involved.

For everyone in Liverpool though, whether you’re a volunteer or not, don’t forget to say hello to your local park this week and discover why its worth preserving and celebrating.
