Moorebank Marina Gains Approval

newsLiverpool residents who have been holding out for word on the proposed $44.2 million marina at Moorebank will be excited to hear that it has finally gained the approval of the Sydney West Joint Regional Planning Panel.

The marina is set to completely transform the area which is currently being run as a quarry by Benedict Industries who have been trying to gain approval for the marina project for 14 years now.

Plans for the marina include a function centre, kiosks, private clubhouse and tourist and member facilities. There will also be 186 berths in a floating wharf in front of a large maritime building, capable of storing a further 250 small craft in dry berths.

The marina is exciting news for the Liverpool community as it will bring an exciting new attraction to the region and no doubt many will be looking forward to going for a ride along George’s River to Port Botany.

Unfortunately we will still have to wait a few more years until we can see the marina up and running, but work to prepare the site looks set to start right away.

At Professionals Paradise Realty we would love to hear what locals think about the development of the new marina – are you looking forward to it being built?
