The Liverpool community is being asked to have their say on the names of two railway stations that will be built as part of the South West Rail Link project.
The two stations in question will be located off Croatia Avenue in Edmondson Park and at 199 Rickard Road in Leppington.
Transport NSW has proposed that the stations be named after the suburbs they are located in, so they would be called ‘Leppington Station’ and ‘Edmondson Park Station’. Possibly not too creative, but they would be easy for locals and visitors to understand.
The stations will form part of the 11.4km rail line that is getting built between Glenfield and Leppington. The project is set to include an upgrade to Glenfield station and bus interchange and a new twintrack passenger rail line from Glenfield to Leppington via Edmondson Park.
The project is due to be completed in 2015.
If you want to have your say on the station names, you can view the naming proposals at www.gnb.nsw.gov.au. Comments are open until September 8, 2014.
What do you think? Do you like the station names that have been chosen?
